To upload your documents, please note the following:.
- Recommended browser: For the best experience, we recommend using the latest version of Chrome when uploading your materials. If you're using a different browser, we suggest switching to Chrome before initiating the upload.
- My upload is blocked: At Studocu, we strive to maintain a high-quality, legal, and user-friendly platform. To ensure this, there are certain restrictions on uploads.
There are 3 ways in which your upload journey can be blocked:
-
- Cross-Country Upload Restrictions
- VPN Restrictions During Upload
- 5 Strikes Ban
1. Cross Country Uploads
What is a Cross Country Upload restriction?
A Cross cross-country upload restriction is applied when you try to upload documents to an institution in a country different from your registered country. This is to ensure the quality of uploads and to prevent low-quality contributions.
How does Cross Country Blocking work?
When you try to upload a document, the system will check if the institution you're uploading to matches your current country. If there's a mismatch, a banner will inform you that uploads are restricted to institutions in your country.
What should I do if I'm affected by this restriction?
Ensure you're uploading to institutions in your registered country. You can still access documents from any institution worldwide with a premium account.
What if I'm an exchange student or studying remotely?
We understand there are unique cases like exchange students or remote learning situations. We’re currently building solutions to be able to accommodate cases like this, we appreciate your patience.
I'm a student in a border region; how does this affect me?
In cases like students in border regions, we're still developing solutions to address these specific situations. We appreciate your patience as we work on making our platform more inclusive and adaptable.
2. VPN Blocks
Why can't I upload documents using a VPN?
Using a VPN can bypass our geo-location checks, leading to potential misuse of the platform. Therefore, uploads while using a VPN are blocked.
What should I do if I encounter a VPN block?
Please disable your VPN and refresh the page before attempting to upload again.
Does this mean I can't use a VPN at all with Studocu?
You can use a VPN for other activities on Studocu, but not for uploading documents to ensure location accuracy.
3. 5 Strikes Ban
What is the 5 Strikes Ban?
If you upload copyrighted material five times, your account may be subject to a temporary ban. This is to comply with copyright laws and protect intellectual property.
How will I know if I've received a strike?
You will be notified via email each time a strike is issued against your account.
